TV REVIEW: Archive 81 (Season 1)
Cults, compounds, and seances cause lots of creepy vibes, Kaelego is scarier in the static than coming to life, and the Vos Society comes in way too late to matter. Plus, what’s the deal with Dan’s ex-gf?
Cults, compounds, and seances cause lots of creepy vibes, Kaelego is scarier in the static than coming to life, and the Vos Society comes in way too late to matter. Plus, what’s the deal with Dan’s ex-gf?
The season wraps up with ritualistic murder, a major identity reveal, a harrowing trip to another dimension, and one of the most awkward bro hugs ever filmed.
We flash back to the 1920’s for the history of the Vos Society, the cult, and the woman in the paintings. Plus, Dan is out of the compound, Annabelle might NOT be out of her mind, and who knows if Kalego ever really came out of the computer screen.
The first season is in the books, and there’s a lot more to like than not. Compelling kid actors, a terrifying location that hits way too close to home, and two exciting teases for next season…
But man, what happened to Hopper? And can we please deal with the fact that our superpowered hero is a traumatized child with a body count a mile long?
The mold is everywhere, The Circle is cursed, and the face that was in the screen… well, it’s not just in the screen anymore. Things are getting really weird.
As Season One closes, we finally get a good long look at the Upside Down. Plus, Hopper makes a questionable deal, Steve walks into a crazy scene, Eleven faces her fears, and Dustin finds the secret stash of chocolate pudding.
The mystery starts to unravel – and so does Annabelle. Plus, Melody confronts Samuel, Dan confronts Virgil, and a new friend confronts the sidewalk at a very high speed.
El takes a bath, we have a full team working together, and the “bad men” are coming. Plus, the fate of one of my favorite characters is finally revealed.
We’ve got a good old-fashioned séance! Plus, Dan and Melody can’t stay away from one other, Mark gets an unwanted visitor, Annabelle’s painting goes awry, and marble notebooks are creepy.
Nancy’s in the Upside Down, Steve gets what’s coming to him, Mike and Lucas can’t get along, Dustin has a moment, and El shoplifts a LOT of waffles 🧇
