I love lists. And rankings. In fact, I’ve always wanted to make my own year-by-year rankings for top movies and performances.
That’s what you’ll find below, sorted by year and decade.
But here’s the catch…
I’m only rating and ranking these movies with fresh eyes. I’m not trying to include every movie I’ve ever watched from memory. In other words, these are running lists, starting with movies I’ve watched in 2026. Every time I watch a movie, I’ll rate it and add it to the proper list.
So, some lists will look silly until I watch enough movies to make the lists feel more comprehensive. (And even then, they may still look silly.) But it will be fun project!
